Your lecture is on your camera roll. Now what?

You take 40 photos in a two-hour lecture. The slides, the board, the extra example the lecturer drew in the corner. It feels safe. You have the class in your pocket.

Then you never open the album. Or you do, and you scroll like it is Instagram. Recognition again. No recall.

A photo is a source, not a session

The camera is great at capture. It is terrible at telling you what matters. A full slide deck on your phone is the same problem as a 40-page PDF: too much, no questions, no schedule.

Use the photo as raw material. The study session starts when you pull one idea out of it.

What is worth photographing

• The slide with the definition, formula, or process you will have to say later.
• The extra example that is not in the PDF.
• The board sketch that only existed for five minutes.
• A textbook page with a table you always mix up.

Skip the title slide, the joke slide, and the page you can download later. If the photo is blurry, retake it now. A fuzzy formula is useless at 11pm.

Make the photo usable in 30 seconds

Crop to the content. Turn the page so the text is upright. If two ideas are on one photo, that is fine. Do not spend ten minutes editing. You need readable pixels, not a portfolio.

Common mistakes

• Shooting every slide "just in case" and never processing any of them.

• Waiting until Sunday to upload 90 photos. You will not.
